Current Openings
Concordia is currently seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher and Elementary After-School Care Teacher.  

Part-Time Spanish Teacher

Pay: Hourly, negotiable. 8.5 hours/week with 2 hour paid prep time

Description: 

—  Create yearly and weekly lesson plans with clear objectives and methods of assessment for each grade level appropriate for their capabilities of learning and retaining the content.  The objectives should include age appropriate lessons in speaking, vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing, and cultural aspects of Spanish speaking countries. 

— Execute plans with students:

Team Roots (Kindergarten) – 1 hr/week split into two 30-minute sessions

Team Sprouts (1st and 2nd Grade) – 1 hr/week split into two 30-minute sessions

Team Hawthorn (3rd and 4th Grade) – 1.5 hr/week split into two 45 minute sessions

Team Woodlands (5th and 6th Grade) – 1.5 hr/week split into two 45 minute sessions

Team Cardinals (7th and 8th Grade) – 1.5 hr/week split into two 45 minute sessions

— Assess student progress and report it on student report cards 4x/year.

— Differentiate instruction as necessary for students within a classroom so that students are challenged appropriately.

— Collaborate with classroom teacher if opportunity arises to teach Spanish words, topics, etc. related to the classes’ areas of study.

— Commit to our Mission Statement, “Concordia Lutheran School is a nurturing, Christ-centered community serving all Seattle area families by providing individualized academic, spiritual and social development,” and be wiling to share your Christian faith with students when applicable.

Desired qualifications: Fluent Spanish speaker, writer, listener. At least one year experience working with children. Teaching experience preferred, not required.  Statement of Vaccination Requirement

Condition of Employment The Governor’s Proclamation 21-14.2 requires all employees of educational institutions (schools) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious (moral/ethical) exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

3 Different Preschool Classes, Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade combined class – 30 min each/week

3rd/4th grade combined class, 5th/6th grade combined class, 7th/8th grade combined class – 45 min each/week

Desired qualifications: Skilled, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about music theory, in choral and instrumental music, music history. Able to teach these skills to ages 3-14. Current teaching certificate for music in Washington or another state or the ability to pursue one (preferred). At least one year experience working with children. Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills. Skilled at differentiation of instruction. Desired qualities in a candidate include personableness with staff, families, and students; a willingness to learn and improve teaching skills; professionalism (punctuality, dress, demeanor); and being an example of Christ’s love to others in words and actions. Assistant Preschool Teacher

Pay: $17.27 per hour
Description: Christian licensed childcare center; assisting lead teachers in 3-5 year-old preschool classes. Provide supervision and monitor afternoon activities. Provide COVID-19 disinfecting and cleaning at the end of the day.  Monday through Friday.

Desired qualifications: Prior experience working with preschool-age children. Candidate should be comfortable teaching Christian principles to young children. Although not required, DCYF requirements (First Aid/CPR/Background Check/TB Test/ 30 hours STARS training/etc.) and/or ECE coursework preferred. Elementary After-School Care Teacher

Dates/Hours: 2021-2022 School Year (Sept – June) Monday-Friday 3pm-6pm
Qualifications: Experience with children, 18+, Christian
Job Description: Plan and implement activities for elementary age students for after school hours, supervise and manage children, administer first aid when needed, communicate with parents about events when needed
Pay: $17.27/hr
