Middle School English (7th-8th Grades)
Requirements
- Adhere to Concordia Lutheran School’s Mission Statement – “Concordia Seattle provides a nurturing, Christ centered community serving all Seattle area families by providing individualized academic, social and spiritual development.”
- Confess faith in the Triune God as described in the Apostle’s Creed, Jesus as the Savior, God’s Word as truth
- Valid teacher certification
Preferred
- 1-3 years or more experience teaching middle school ages
Hours/Pay
- 5 hrs teaching/week + 2-3 hours of prep/grading, Hourly pay neg.
Job Description
- Plan and execute lessons for students using the Summit Learning curriculum (mastery and project based with content and cognitive skills focus) in the following subject areas: English (7th/8th Grade)
- Develop positive, professional relationships with students, families, and staff
- Maintain classroom management according to school polices
- Communicate regularly with parents
- Work with principal and middle school staff as a team for consistency and to make data based decisions
- Assess and give feedback to student work and assessments in a timely manner and complete quarterly report cards
- Make accommodations for students according to student support plans
- Continue to improve teaching plans and strategies to meet school’s philosophy on personalized, mastery learning
- Possibly: be mentor for small groups of students, work time facilitator, lunch/recess duty, homeroom teacher responsibilities

- Be trained in the Summit Learning curriculum including being a mentor to students

Assistant Preschool Teacher
Pay: $17.27 per hour
Description: Christian licensed childcare center; assisting lead teachers in 3-5 year-old preschool classes. Provide supervision and monitor afternoon activities. Provide COVID-19 disinfecting and cleaning at the end of the day. Monday through Friday.
Desired qualifications: Prior experience working with preschool-age children. Candidate should be comfortable teaching Christian principles to young children. Although not required, DCYF requirements (First Aid/CPR/Background Check/TB Test/ 30 hours STARS training/etc.) and/or ECE coursework preferred.
