Shining Star Day

We celebrate each child’s birthday in the Giraffe class with a “Shining Star Day”. This is a date that I have selected either on or near the child’s birthday. If the student has a summer birthday, it will fall a bit before the end of the year. This day is a chance for each child to celebrate “me”! Children may bring in:
o our shining star box filled with 4 or 5 special things that are important to the child (stuffed animals, favorite toys, books etc. ) – please limit it to 4 or 5 items total
o a special treat for snack time or lunch time if you wish. Please bring store bought items only. Common treats are popsicles, cupcakes, and cookies.
o a “All About Me” sheet which you will fill out at home with your child, to include pictures of drawings of special things about them!

I will send out a reminder before your child’s shining star day, and I will leave out our shining star box by your child’s cubby before the shining star day. If I forget to leave out the box, feel free to remind me. Please put the dates on your calendar – thanks!
